Analysis of revelation and the doubts thereabout

Revelation is of different types such as: the inspired revelation (inspiring a message to a pious humanʹs heart), direct revelation (revelation received directly from God) and inspired speech (revelation through dialogue). From Islamic theologiansʹ point of view, the reality of revelation is of the type of Gnosis of God based on which God or an Angel conveys the statements of God to the prophet. The reality of revelation and prophets in the School of Islamic philosophers consists of two concepts: 1) a particular religious experience named revelation and connection to the holy universe; and 2) the concept of Gnosis of God, i.e. to receive religious statements. From this point of view the theologiansʹ and philosophersʹ views on this is close to each pother. However, the Islamic mystics and philosophers believe that descent of the Revelation Angel, his voice and representation were all in the prophetʹs Imagination. After these subjects are described in this article, three doubts on the part of Orientalists are proposed about the idea that revelation depends on "imagination", "genius" and "religious experience" which are then investigated and criticized.
