John Templeton Foundation

Sir John Marks Templeton, a former financial consultant and one of the richest people of the world, created The John Templeton Foundation in 1987 in order to stimulate research at the border between science and spirituality. His foundation keeps close contact with scientists, theologians, medical professionals, philosophers and other scholars to encourage dialogue and reflection between them about the relationship between science and religion. Through supporting research proposals that aim to increase our understanding about ultimate purpose of human creation, he is trying to increase the depth of our knowledge about the positive effects of spirituality on different aspects of human life with the hope to bring back the faith into modem life. Every year, he donates part of his personal wealth as valuable prizes to a variety of outstanding works concerning the link between science and religion.
