Ethical Role of Art in Cultural Transcendence

نسبت ميان هنر و اخلاق ازجمله مهم‌ترين و بنيادي‌ترين مباحث نظري هنر از زمان‌هاي دور تا به‌امروز است. تاثير شگرف هنر و آثار هنري در احساسات و عواطف انساني و نيز قدرت بي‌نظير آن در تبديل ايده به كنش و مهم‌تر تثبيت و تحكيم آموزه‌هاي اخلاقي و حتي تعميق ادراكات اخلاقي، از عوامل اصلي اين اهميت و جايگاه بنيادي است. در اين باره تاكنون نظريه‌هاي مختلفي در تبيين نسبت ميان اين دو مطرح شده است. برخي از اين نظريه‌ها كه اصلي‌ترين آنها در اين مقاله مورد بحث و بررسي قرار گرفته‌اند بر كاركرد اخلاقي هنر و لاجرم تبعيت آن از برخي حدود و قيود و مهم‌تر نقش آن در تعميق باورها و ادراكات اخلاقي تاكيد دارند و برخي نيز متاثر از ظهور و بروز «هنر شخصي» در جهان مدرن (كه محصول پناه گرفتن در سايه عقل و علمِ تجزيه‌محور و موجد نظريه‌هايي چون هنر براي هنر است) يا از لزوم تفكيك وجه اخلاقي و زيباشناختي آثار هنري سخن مي‌گويند يا از انحطاط آن. در اين مقاله كه هدف اصلي آن تبيين اهميت و چگونگي نقش هنر در تعالي فرهنگي يك جامعه است، نظريه‌هاي فوق مورد بررسي و نقد قرار گرفته و مبتني بر براهين عقلي بر نظريه‌اي تاكيد مي‌شود كه ارزش‌هاي اخلاقي و انساني در آن نقش محوري دارند.

Since long time back, investigation about relationship between art and ethics has been among the most fundamental theoretical issues of art. Among the main factors for the significance of this issue, mention may be made of the astonishing effect of art and artistic works on human emotions and feelings, it’s unique power to idea to action, and consolidation of ethical doctrines and even deepening of ethical perceptions. There are different theories explaining the relationship between the two. Some theories (the most important of which is discussed in this paper) emphasizes the moral function of art and consequently its limitation to some constraints as well as its role in deepening ethical beliefs and perceptions. Other theories, under the influence of emergence and advent of “personal art” in the modern world (which is the result of resorting to reason and separation-based science, leading to notions such as art for art), either emphasize on the separation of ethical and aesthetic aspects of artistic works or speak of its decline. The main focus of this paper is to discuss the significance and role of art in cultural transcendence of a society. Hence, the above mentioned theories havebeen critically studied and based on rational arguments emphasis has been laid on a theory in which ethical and humane values have a pivotal role.
