A Study of Womenʹs Viewpoints on Pregnancy Behavior in Ethnicity

In this study, womenʹs viewpoints on pregnancy behavior in ethnicity were investigated in geographical area of Izeh. The main hypothesis is there is no significant difference regarding pregnancy behavior among Turkish, Lor, Arab, and Baluchi people living in this area. This research used a qualitative research methodology and for data collection an open-ended researcher-made questionnaire was used. The population pool of this study consisted of 80 Lor, Arab, Kurdish, Turkish, and Baluchi married women which were selected randomly with the age range of 20 to 40 years old. There is no precise information about different ethnic groups living in Izeh. However, a large number of people in Izeh are originally Lor (Great Lor) and other ethnic groups such as Arabs, Turks, Kurds, and Baluchis are ranked thereafter respectively. The number of Baluchi people is limited in Izeh. The results of this study showed that at present pregnancy behavior and attitude is getting close to each other in all ethnic groups and there is no significant difference in pregnancy behavior and attitude among different ethnic groups of women. In other words, the study admits convergence in pregnancy behavior in the community under study.
