A review on the literature of information literacy

This article reviews the Persian works in information literacy, including books, theses, research projects, symposiums and articles in the field of information literacy published in this area and have influenced its progress. Reviews show during the 15 years of debate on information literacy in Iran, a growing trend can be seen in published sources. Librarians, educational and somewhat computer specialists have shown concern about this area, but librarians, as in other parts of the world, are ahead of this area. While lack of resources in the area of information literacy and public libraries is obvious, the literature has mainly focused on academic libraries. Pragmatic approach to information literacy related to the infrastructure aspects such as critical thinking and analytical skills and the importance of IT skills, is the point that is evident in most published works. Wrong understanding of the information literacy concept and getting computer literacy or library literacy and or information seeking behavior as information literacy is a considerable flaw in this regard
