A Brief Consideration On The East-West Identity Of Our Todayʹʹs World

اصل پرسش اين نوشته درباره عالمي است كه ما در آن خانه كرده‌ايم. سخن برسر اين است كه خصيصه ذاتي اين عالم وجه غربي و شرقي آن مي‌باشد، امري كه خود را در جهات مختلف زندگي ما بروز مي‌دهد: در فهم جغرافيايي ما از زمين، در سياست، در ايديولوژيي كه سياست را پيش مي‌برد، در تاريخ فرهنگ و سرانجام در خود تاريخ. خود وجه تاريخي هم در اينجا به چهار معناست: اول اينكه برساخته بشر دوره جديد است، دوم اينكه پيشينه آن در عالم مسيحيت قرون وسطايي و سنت كلامي آن قرار دارد، سوم اينكه با آن وضعيت تاريخي اروپا در برابر اين سنت كلامي مشخص مي‌شود و سرانجام هويت غربي و شرقي عالم به صورت طرح و قالبي درمي آيد كه با آن تاريخ و اتفاقات مهمش فهميده مي‌شود. نمونه‌هاي مورد اخير از زبان ياسپرس، هولدرلين و هگل – كه فلسفه تاريخ او اساس تلقي دوره جديد است – آورده مي‌شود. در مقابل جريان اصليي كه اروپا محورانه مي‌انديشد گوته قرار دارد، كه موضع او در اصل وحدت وجودي است.

The basic question of the present article is about the world in which we dwell .It will be indicated that the essential character of this world is its east-west orientation, which appears in different aspects of our life: in our geographical understanding and directions, in politics, in ideologies that push politics ahead, in history of culture and finally even in the history itself. This historicity of east-west orientation in the world has four aspects. Firstly, it is made by modern human. Secondly, its root goes back to the Christian world view of the Middle Ages and an important theological theme has been arisen from it at that time. Thirdly, in the modern understanding of history the Christianeast-oriented theological-historical conceptionhas been turned over to make a Eurocentric world view. Finally, the east-west framework has been turned into a schema within which the history and its important events areinterpreted;examples of it will be given from Jaspers, Hegel and H?lderlin.In contrast to such a Eurocentric view, Goetheʹs essentially unificationistic stand will be presented.
