Expressions and Allegories in Mystical Language

عارف براي تبيين مباني عرفان، تعليم به مخاطبان و بيان احوال و مواجيد خود، زبان خاصي به‌كار مي‌گيرد كه اصطلاحاً زبان عرفاني خوانده مي‌شود. شناخت مفاهيم عرفاني و مسايل مربوط به آن مستلزم شناخت ابعاد مختلف زبان عرفاني است. يكي از موضوعات تحقيق و بررسي زبان عرفان، طبقه‌بندي آن است. با توجه به اقوال عرفاني، مي‌توان زواياي مختلفي از زبان را تبيين كرد، ازاين‌رو بهتر است اين طبقه‌بندي مبتني‌بر متون عرفاني باشد. تقسيم زبان عرفاني به «عبارت» و «اشارت» يكي از مهم‌ترين تقسيم‌هايي است كه عارفان در آثار خود آورده‌اند. متون عرفاني به‌طور پراكنده دربردارنده خصوصيات اشارت و عبارت است، ولي اين دو شاخه به‌طور منسجم تعريف نشده‌اند. براي سنجش صحت تقسيم‌بندي مذكور تبيين ويژگي‌هاي زبان عرفاني و تعريف اقسام آن ضروري است. در اين پژوهش براي تعريف زبان اشارت و عبارت، اقوال عرفا بررسي مي‌شود و خصوصيات اين دو شاخه از زبان عرفاني تبيين مي‌گردد.

Theosophists use a special language to clarify the fundamentals of Mysticism, to teach their students, and to express their quality of mind and way of life that is technically called mystical language. Understanding mystical concepts and pertinent issues requires understanding various aspects of mystical language. Classification of the mystical language is a required subject for research into and study of this language. Various aspects can be clarified for the mystical language in terms of mystical narratives. Therefore, the classification is better be based on mystical texts. The classification of mystical language into “expressions” and “allegories” is one of the most important classifications the theosophists have mentioned in their works. Some sparse mystical works contain expressions and allegories but these two elements have not been defined coherently. It is necessary to clarify the specifications of mystical language and its subdivisions to evaluate the accuracy of the above-said classification. In this research paper, we have reviewed narratives by the theosophists to define the language of expressions and allegories as well as the qualities of these two elements of the mystical language.
