One way to increase the longevity of dispenser cathodes is based on reducing the Barium evaporation. This can be achieved
by the decrease of the reaction ‘‘activity’’ of the emitter impregnant with the porous tungsten (W) body, which supplies free
Barium from the interior of the porous cathode to its surface.
