Inositol Pyrophosphates Get the Vip1 Treatment

Inositol pyrophosphates are unique signaling molecules implicated in the regulation of diverse cellular processes. Two new studies by and extend the biological and metabolic diversity of this class of molecules. They identify yeast Vip1 as a new inositol pyrophosphate synthase and show that the products of Vip1 activity regulate a cyclin/cyclin-dependent kinase complex.
