Abstract
Dynamic changes in histone and transcription factor acetylation modulate gene expression. A study in Science () reports that changes in glucose metabolism alter the availability of acetyl-CoA, the essential cofactor for protein acetylation. These findings reveal a direct connection between central metabolism and mammalian gene expression.
