Abstract :
Entrepreneurship is the core of economic development. It is a multi-dimensional task and essentially a creative activity. Entrepreneur is key factor of entrepreneurship. Women entrepreneurship is a phenomenon and in the process have to face various problems. There are so many types of business are available to the women. The types of business are handloom units, beauty parlors, diary units and general stores etc. The women entrepreneurs have to ascertain the financial, marketing and production constraints faced by them in their enterprises: assessment of their health status, work place facilities and to develop guidelines for becoming a successful entrepreneur. Lack of financial assistance, tough competition from larger and established units, lack of transport facility, non availability of raw material were the significant problem faced by entrepreneurs. In the present paper it has been found that in Sangrur district of Punjab state, employment opportunities for women entrepreneurs are bleak in rural areas and due to illiteracy, and less exposure these entrepreneurs are not getting any good market for their products and some time lose interest in the entrepreneurial activity. And some of them are facing various problems and are not performing as per expectations.
