Abstract :
Health is development axis and health of society is affected with development. Tooth decay is infectious and transmissible disease that different factors are involved in it. Perception and behavior of parents play a key role of children behaviors in prevention of caries. The aim of this study was Phenomenology of perception and behavior of parents about childrenʹs oral health. This qualitative study has done at 10 percent of urban school in Joibar with 60 people of studentʹs parents at 3 levels (primary school, high school and guide schools). Samples were selected purposely and data were collected through personal and semi-structured interviews and were analyzed with smith method. Extracted themes were classified to two main clusters (perception and behavior) and sub clusters. Perception section included: ways of tooth decays, ways to prevent tooth decays, the role of nutrition in oral health and the definition of tooth decay and milk permanent tooth and behavior section included: necessary acts in care of health tooth and necessary acts in faced with decay tooth. Since health education is one of the important acts to prevent oral disease in society, systematic education programs about oral health according to economic, social and cultural level is inevitable for public, especially studentʹs parents.
