Abstract :
Variety of open source workflow systems featured with different capabilities, along with lack of a reliable framework to evaluate them, makes it hard to make best choice. The present paper is an attempt to introduce measures to choose the best workflow system. The results can be used for more elaborated assessment and adopting the best systems. Measures and sub-measures were identified through library study and interviewing experts; and prioritized using multi-criteria decision-making techniques. AHP technique was employed at the first phase of study for prioritizing the key measures. Afterward, using TOPSIS technique three software (jBPM, Bonita, and Activiti) were compared based on the sub-measures and results from the first phase. Technical, qualitative, quantitative, and legal/credit measures were ranked from in first to fourth main measures. Furthermore, Bonita, Activiti, and jBPM were ranked as first, second and third best software.
