Advancing the hypothesis that bone remodeling is intimately linked to metabolic homeostasis, and present evidence that insulin signaling promotes the activation of bone-forming osteoblasts and enhances production of osteocalcin, a secreted mediator of insulin sensitivity, through modulation of bone resorption.
