Abstract
A new trapping method for antibodies on the surface of discs of polymerizing material was developed for diagnostic immunoassays by means of low energy electron beam irradiation using a radiation polymerization technique. The effect of the properties of the surface on the trapping of antibodies was investigated by varying the condition of the preparation using anti-human IgG and anti-carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) as antibodies. The reactivity and sensitivity of the trapped antibody discs were affected by polymerization conditions such as monomer concentration, monomer composition, etc., depending on the hydrophilicity of the polymer. The optimum conditions for the preparation of the discs for the enzyme immunoassay of CEA were determined.
