Studies of the influence of the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate on the fluorescence properties of kinetin

A detailed study of the influence of an anionic surfactant (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) on the fluorescence properties of kinetin with NaHSO3 at pH 1.4–2.4 (λ(ex) = 325 nm, λ(em) = 500 nm) has been undertaken. In the presence of SDS, the fluorescence intensity is 9.5 times greater that in its absence. The detection limit for kinetin is 0.21 ng ml−1, and the calibration graph is linear over the range of 0.21–4000 ng ml−1.
