Abstract
This research was conducted to distinguish the extent to which translator’s personality affected translation quality of narrative texts. To reach this goal, 60 BA senior students of Payam Noor University were selected. All of the students were female and were averaged in age at 27 years. After homogenizing general translation ability of students, two stories were submitted to them in two separate sessions. Immediately after translating the second story, the personality test was distributed among students to show whether they were thinking or feeling. Since the participantsʹ mother tongue was in Persian, the personality test was in Persian too. The data analysis of both two groups showed that translatorʹs personality had no impact on translation quality of narrative texts. Since translator’s personality has no effect on translation quality, there are no concerns for the managers of organizations to be sensitive for the effect of translator’s personality on its translation. Especially for translating literary texts, it’s not necessary to find a translator whose personality is the same as the author’s one.
