Continuous measurement of lactate in microdialysate

An amperometric flow cell was developed for continuous monitoring of lactate in the subcutaneous microdialysate from a rat. The lactate measuring flow cell is based on a platinum-AgAgCl electrode covered with a lactate oxidase containing sandwich membrane. The functional stability of the lactate probe was more than one-week and the results from the enzyme sensor measurement was confirmed by off-line measurements with liquid chromatography.
