Abstract :
In order to assess the hazardous potential of pollutants in buildings, different sampling technologies are applied. Currently available methods of source identification are undesirable because they entail the removal or destruction of samples. A new passive pentachlorophenol surface emission patch is described. Its use to distinguish different emanating pentachlorophenol sources in a non-destructive way is described. Subsequent laboratorial analysis is done by a highly sensitive pentachlorophenol-ELISA. The determination of pentachlorophenol emission rates from newly treated and old-wood samples are presented.
