Abstract :
The transient thermal behaviour of a turning tool is investigated. A model based on the quadrupole formulation is proposed. Two significant parameters: the temperature and the heat flux of the tool’s tip are estimated with that model. The results obtained are in good agreement with those obtained with numerical simulations using Fluent®.
