Abstract :
The present study investigated the relationship of need to act based on religious beliefs, mental health and identity formation with academic performance among the girl university students. Using a random stratified sampling technique 140 girls were selected and evaluated by questionnaires such as Need to act on the religious beliefs (Navidi, 1997); Mental health scale (ASCL-25, Najarian, 2000); and Benion and Adamʹs Identity states (1986). Results showed significant relationships between need to act on the religious beliefs and academic performance (r=0.72), mental health and academic performance (r= ?/46), and identity formation with academic performance (r= ?/25). Further, result showed a significant multiple coefficients of correlation amongthe variables and indicated that need to act on the religious beliefs and mental health were the best predictors of academic performance.
