Abstract :
A simple method allowing the efficient separation and determination of cyclodextrins (CDs) by capillary electrophoresis (CE) with amperometric detection was demonstrated. Three native CDs, α-, β- and γ-CD, were baseline separated within 22 min and their detection limits were determined to be 2.0, 1.6 and 1.0 μM, respectively, under the optimum conditions. Mono-2-O-hydroxypropyl-β-CD and β-CD, which could not be baseline separated under the conditions used to separate the native CDs, were completely separated when sodium toluene-p-sulfonate was added into the running buffer.
