Abstract
Cyclic-, normal pulse-, and adsorptive stripping voltammetry have been used for the electroanalytical characterization of imidazoacridinone (C-1311) at platinum and hanging mercury drop electrodes. Three acid–base equilibrium constants, as pKa, have been determined for the compound, and used for interpretation of the phenomena occurring at electrode surface. For pH 7.4, which has been found to be optimal, the anodic peaks obtained at regular and micro Pt electrodes are affected by a filming process, but one of the cathodic peaks obtained at mercury drop electrodes was very well reproducible. Imidazoacridinone strongly adsorbs at the mercury surface, therefore it is a good object for adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The plot of height of adsorptive stripping peak vs. imidazoacridinone concentration is linear in the range 1×10−8–1×10−6 M.
