Abstract
Quinine (QN) and quinidine (QD) ion-pair diastereomeric complex resolution based on phase-modulation resolved fluorescence has been developed. (+)-10-Camphorsulfonic acid used as a counter-ion gives diastereomeric complexes with QN and QD which have different stabilities. They show different lifetimes (QN complex, τ=21.79 ns and QD complex, τ=22.89 ns). On the basis of this difference both complexes have been determined, obtaining a detection limit of 1.8 μM for the QN complex and a 0.97 μM for the QD complex.
