Affinity of rhenium on an extraction chromatographic resin from nitric acid was studied to develop a simple and rapid separation of Re for ICP-MS measurements. Under a low nitric acid condition (<1 M), the resin showed high retention of Re, however, the selectivity of Re onto the resin was slightly lower than that of Tc.
