Abstract :
Flow injection analysis (FIA) is a continuous system due to its hydrodynamic nature whereas sequential injection is a discontinuous technique. Because of this, the approaches for sampling, chemistries with manifold configurations and simultaneous assays are different, and cause some difficulties when designing sequential injection process analyzers. Process methodologies are discussed, prerequisites for process control and monitoring are given followed by a number of applications for sampling devices, manifold configurations and simultaneous assays, thus, solving the problems of sequential injection systems as process analyzers.
