Abstract :
A systematic investigation was made on magnetic-polarization-resonance-synchronous-fluorimetry (MPRSF). With the simultaneous utilization of polarization and magnetic field in resonance synchronous fluorimetry (RSF), a new analytical technique, MPRSF, was developed. The scattered light level was suppressed and the fluctuation was reduced by the addition of the magnetic field. This technique was used for simultaneous determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in mixed samples. Detection limits for chrysene, anthracene and perylene were 12.8 μg/l, 75 ng/l and 3.9 ng/l, and sensitivities were 13.1, 24.2 and 66.6 times higher than those by RSF. The relative standard deviations were less than 3%.
