Abstract
Dynamically quenched phosphorescence detection — an attractive alternative for absorption detection in capillary electrophoresis (CE), especially if analytes with low absorptivities are dealt with — can be readily implemented using a conventional, commercially available CE fluorescence detector, without the involvement of time-resolution. The results obtained for seven naphthalene sulfonates (NS), which were used as test analytes, indicate that the LODs for quenched phosphorescence on such an instrument are as good as ca. 10−7 M.
