Abstract :
In order to compute the displacements in micro-geodesy networks, detecting stable
and unstable points is highly momentous, because if they were not detected, there
would be datum fault in the network. The most common methods for evaluation of
the stability of points are: a) global congruency test, b) minimization of the
displacement vector’s L1 norm. In the present article, fifty networks are evaluated
using these techniques. Nowadays a variety of institutes and companies in Iran are
responsible for computing massive constructions, predominantly dams; and also
supervising the projects which are done. The introduction of a scientific solution
based on numerical facts can be an effective way to put an end to some of the
ongoing problems in the industry of this country. The purpose of the present study
is comparing the two aforementioned methods and referring to some of their
advantages and disadvantages which have been taken into account in the following
parts. The results of this research indicate that L1 minimization method has been
used to determine stable and unstable points which are more efficient. After all it is better to use both methods and the
average of two results be taken as the stable point, because it is more close to certainty.
