Abstract :
A numerical model to calculate the distribution of the magnetization inside a superconducting (SC) bulk, when a time-varying magnetic field is applied, is presented. The model is based on an equivalent magnetic network derived from the magnetoquasistatic form of Maxwell equations and takes into account the SC properties by defining a hysteretic material characteristic. The dynamic electromagnetic behavior of a melt-processed ring-shaped Y-Ba-Cu-O bulk using the pulsedfield magnetization (PFM) process is investigated. The predicted results on the flux trapped in the YBCO bulk by PFM process are compared with the measured ones.
