Abstract :
The paper presents the results of an examination of fibrous composites of polylactide and polyvinylidene fluoride. Fibres composed of biodegradable polylactide matrix (PLA) reinforced with fibrous structures of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a polymer exhibiting good chemical resistance and mechanical strength, were obtained using the classical method of producing fibres from a melt. The composite has an interesting internal morphology suggesting potentially promising applications. The fibres were examined using DSC and TGA thermal methods, WAXS and FTIR spectroscopy. Their morphology was investigated using optical microscopy and SEM electron microscopy.
