Abstract :
We discuss the electronic properties of artificial atoms composed of a fixed number of electrons and holes confined to a parabolic quantum dot. The calculated emission spectra show distinct features related to the number of excitons. We identify the relevant “hidden symmetries” and show how they replace Hundʹs rules in two-component quantum dots.
