Abstract :
This paper presents a theoretical study on in-chamber convective heat transfer for a novel Revolving Vane (RV) compressor design. With an inclusion of convective heat transfer into the compressor mathematical models, a discrepancy of less than 2.0% has been obtained between the predicted and measured pressure-angle histories for various compressor speeds based on the available in-chamber convective heat transfer correlations in compressor literature. The distinctive heat transfer parameters for this unique compressor geometry such as flow field and equivalent hydraulic diameter have also been analyzed and presented.
