Abstract :
We investigate the Kondo effect of a multiorbital quantum dot coupled to spin polarized leads, using the noncrossing approximation. It is shown that as the spin polarization is increased, the Kondo peak splits into three peaks and the middle one is located close to the Fermi energy. The results indicate that the Kondo effect caused by the orbital degrees of freedom survives, while the Kondo effect by the spin degrees of freedom is suppressed. In the temperature dependence of the conductance, the hump structure emerges owing to the contribution from the orbital and spin degrees of freedom.
