Abstract :
Exact diagonalizations are used to study the structure of the many-particle wavefunction in quantum dots containing up to six electrons. We are able to provide quantitative information on the correlated electron–vortex state that forms at strong magnetic fields and find that the electron–vortex distances scale as the square of the filling factor.
