Abstract :
Base components of silicon (Si)-based optoelectronic couple and its assembly design are discussed in this paper. A working prototype of highly symmetrical porous Si (porSi)-based optocouple with the capability to work in direct and reverse directions is considered here. Al(Al2O3)-porSi avalanche light-emitting diode (LED) and photodiode of the same structure are used in the prototype. The technology is fully compatible with the standard CMOS process and gives a chance to overcome intrarchip connection bottleneck.
