Abstract :
Free vibration analysis of functionally graded carbon nanotube with variable thickness based on the Timoshenko beam theory is investigated. The material properties are assumed to be graded in the longitudinal direction, which vary according to a simple power law distribution. The differential quadrature method (DQM) is adopted to solve the equations of motion. It can be mentioned that results for free vibration analyses of the functionally graded carbon nanotube with variable thickness by differential quadrature method are not available yet and the results may be used as benchmark for future works.
