Abstract
A simple theory is developed for studying interactions between electrons and intense laser fields in two-dimensional electron gases, in conjunction with recent experiments where terahertz free-electron lasers are employed as intense radiation sources in investigating optoelectronic properties of semiconductors. With these approaches, the transport and optical coefficients can be calculated easily for an electron–photon–phonon system. The results obtained from this study can be used for understanding and interpreting the experimental findings reported recently.
