Abstract :
We present an experimental study of the carrier density dependence of the composite fermion (CF) conductivity σxxCF at both Landau level filling factors View the MathML source and View the MathML source in high-quality front-gated GaAs/Al0.33Ga0.67As heterostructures. Extracting α from the power law ln(σxxCF)∝ln(ne)α shows that α≈1, in qualitative agreement with theoretical predictions based on a random magnetic field approximation in the electron density distribution.
