Streamer motion in Hall effect Corbino geometries

The dynamics of inhomogeneous current flow in a Corbino sample geometry under a perpendicular magnetic field has been studied using a nonlinear generation–recombination model of conducting electrons. A spontaneous symmetry-breaking development of high electron density streamers rotating in a Hall field has been found, preceding the formation of experimentally observable current filaments.
