Investigation of an open quantum dot with a Coulomb blockade quantum dot detector

Coulomb blockade in a quantum dot in one layer of an independently contacted double layer electron system was used to investigate an open dot in the other layer. The formation of edge channels in the open dot in a magnetic field was observed both in conductance and capacitance measurements.
