Abstract :
We report on Hartree–Fock calculations to study the ground state of a vertical double quantum dot. At finite Zeeman splittings due to in-plane magnetic fields, we observe a continuous quantum phase transition from a ferromagnetic to a symmetric phase through a canted antiferromagnetic state. This phase is proven to be exclusively mediated by interdot interactions.
