Abstract
We have obtained quantum states of light from the emission of an isolated InAs quantum dot. Single photon emission is observed via correlation experiments. Moreover, cross-correlation experiments reveal the sequential de-excitation of the quantum dot, yielding a radiative cascade that produces two single photons with a definite order. These quantum states of light can be generated with a high quantum efficiency, which opens the way to the design of a source, that can deliver both true single photons and strongly correlated photon pairs.
