Abstract :
The effect of electric field generated by the application of surface acoustic waves on photoluminescence (PL) of silicon nanocrystals embedded in SiO2 films is studied. It is shown that the application of electric field results in an increase in the intensity of nanocrystal PL, the increase amounting to 10% at a field amplitude of View the MathML source. The results are discussed within the frame of the self-trapped exciton model.
