Abstract :
We consider a contact-like interaction to describe the energy states of carbon nanotubes attached to a surface. We show that the attachment process strongly modifies the energy dispersions around the Fermi edge of a metallic nanotube, and leads to the existence of localized states in the gap of a semiconducting one.
