Abstract
We report on a new method to fabricate a nanometer-sized metal surface gate with two-dimensional triangular pattern on a GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure sample, by using self-organized nanohole arrays of porous alumina. We confirm, by measuring the photoluminescence spectra, that we successfully realize a quantum dot array when we apply the bias voltage between the surface gate and the back gate of our sample, in agreement with the theoretical calculation. The patterning method, which we have developed by using self-organized nanohole arrays, therefore, can provide one of the promising ways to realize a quantum dot array system.
