Abstract :
We report on the successful theoretical design of artificial ferromagnetic crystals based on quantum dot superlattices. Our examined quantum dot superlattice has the ferromagnetic ground state when it has a certain number of electrons even though it contains no magnetic elements. In addition, this ferromagnetism can be controlled simply by applying a gate electric field.
