We suggest a statistical approach for determining parameters in nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry. The method obtains the optimum parameter set in addition to estimates of volume fractions associated with the basins of attraction of each locally optimum set. Relaxometry parameters for nuclear magnetic resonance applications as diverse as flow through permeable media and the spectroscopy of partially ordered materials may be obtained using such an approach.
