Abstract :
Repulsive potential for Li+–He at the small distances of 0.09⩽R⩽0.95 Å has been determined from the summed differential-cross-sections measured at 500⩽Elab⩽1500 eV. The experimental potential at R>0.3 Å is well represented by a single exponential function, while at R<0.3 Å the potential largely deviates from the single exponential form. The potential can be represented by an analytical form of V(R)=428exp(−5.11R)+(165/R)exp(−20R) eV, and is well reproduced by the ab initio and statistical calculations. The empirical overlap-model and universal potentials proposed previously agree well with the experimental result at the limited range of distances of R>0.25 Å and R<0.8 Å, respectively.
