An algorithm for analyzing the polarization-free picosecond fluorescence experiments on TICT, CT, PT and other relevant systems in solutions Original Research Article
Abstract :
An algorithm for analyzing the picosecond fluorescence decays of TICT, CT, PT and other relevant two-excited state systems in solutions, is presented. This algorithm enables for: (a) separation of fluorescence decays of the transient state (TICT, CT or PT) and the decay of the primary excited state, both contributing to the measured fluorescence decay at the same emission wavelength, (b) separation of the steady-state emission bands, (c) determination of the quantum yields for both states, (d) determination of the radiative fluorescence lifetimes, the rates for non-radiative processes, the rates for forward and backward kinetic relaxation as well as the activation energies of the relaxation processes involved. Experimental examples for some CT, TICT and PT compounds, are discussed.
